The brief

Build a minimal, sharp, black and white site in Framer that a small studio could buy and make their own. The references were The Romans, Edolus, Segerman and ESR Bespoke. The rule was no colour, no decoration, and nothing on the page that doesn’t help someone decide.

What we built

I rebuilt the home page as a hairline mosaic: a grid of panels separated by 1px lines, with no section headings at all. A statement cell sits beside a full-height photo, then an edge to edge wordmark, then the work, then an accordion of services. Every image is filtered to black and white on the canvas, so the owner can upload colour photos and the site stays monochrome. Type is Clash Grotesk for headings, Satoshi for body and Fragment Mono for the small uppercase labels. Seven text styles and two link styles control everything, so the whole look can be changed from the Styles panel. Motion is deliberate and limited: headlines reveal word by word, images scale in as they enter view, the hero photo has a slow parallax, panels zoom on hover, and the page closes on a giant “Let’s talk.” One layout template carries the sticky nav and footer across every page. A Projects collection drives the home panels, the Work grid and the project pages, including each page’s title, description and share image. The contact form has a real submit button with pending, success and error states. Every page has its own metadata, a 404 is in place, and the site ships with a favicon and social image.
